SPECIAL COVID-19 Message from KCFA President
Dear Brothers and Sisters!
Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ Our Blessed Redeemer! I am writing this note to all of you as leaders of KCFA to update you on the status of this year’s annual national conference scheduled for July 2 through July 5 2020 at James Madison University.
As you well know, KCFA has been negatively impacted by the arrival of the coronavirus. A significant number of KCFA’s operations has been affected, ranging from cancellations of annual national departmental conferences to infections of some of our members by this disease.
After careful deliberations about the status of our Annual National Conference, the planning committee of the conference concluded and recommended, to the National Executive Board, that the annual national conference for this year (2020) be cancelled out of abundance of caution. This was based on a number of reasons, including the CDC projected increase of infections and death rates from this disease in the coming days.
Upon receiving this recommendation from the planning committee, the National Executive Board engaged the deliberation process and unanimously voted to cancel the conference for this year. Thereafter, the National Executive Board met with the Board of Trustees (BOT) and conveyed this decision to members of the BOT. The BOT was unanimous in its support of this decision, noting that the safety of our members is of utmost importance.
The National Executive Board will hold another meeting on the 16th of May to discuss the possibility of having a functional alternative to the Annual National Conference. We encourage you to be in prayer as KCFA’s national leaders wrestle with this decision with the goal of ministering to every member of KCFA, albeit in a different manner.
May God bless you very much as you serve KCFA. Your ministry is very valuable to the overall running of this organization. We thank God for all of you.
