    FOUNDATION

    Dr. Joe Karogi

    Dr. Joe Karogi and Dr. Mary Chege-Karogi founded KCFA on October 14th, 1991 in Birmingham, Alabama.
    Created Organizational Name.
    Started Ushirika Magazine.

    STABILITY

    Presided over a transition period when KCFA was going through a division and provided stability for one year until a new board was elected.

    ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

    Constitution – over saw the writing of KCFA Constitution which was ratified in 1996.
    Inaugurated the Board of Trustees.
    Presided over establishment of KCFA in the southern region.
    Transition to ownership.

    EXPANSION & GROWTH

    Registered in the state of Tennessee.
    Formal Registration of KCFA into a 501(c)3.
    Relocated site of annual conference to JMU.
    KCFA CONFRENCE & RETREAT CENTER VISION.
    Planting and expansion of new KCFA Chapters.
    Created better structure of the organization.
    Expanded KCFA to the South.
    Regular national executive board meetings.
    Constitutional Review.
    Purchase of New KCFA Equipment.
    KCFA WEB SITE – Started our own website.
    Annual Conference Attendance Growth.
    Financial Growth.

    PUBLIC RELATIONS

    Started eight new chapters.
    Streamlined the annual national conference program to include a parallel conference for the youth.
    Partnership establishment with the Kenya Embassy, DC, Kenya UN Mission, The Kenya Government, and Corporate Sponsors.
    Relief and Humanitarian Efforts: Hurricane Katrina, Kenya IDP etc.
    Established KCFA HQ Raleigh, NC.

    Initiated and oversaw the completion of KCFA Policy Manual.
    Started two new chapters.

    INFRASTRUCTURE

    Conducted aggressive fundraising drive for land Purchase (Raised $180,000.00).
    Acquisition of 74 acres of KCFA land for building a conference & retreat center in Norlina, NC.
    Ongoing constitutional review.
    Separation of Department of Children from Department of Youth into two different departments.
      Introduction of Couple’s Department.
    Ongoing recording and production of KCFA worship music.
