The reality of the
situation is:
a)
There are 46 adults and about 20 children
b) About 30 were college students
c) Many have lost their belongings.
d) ALL have lost their jobs.
e) Many MUST register in school (before the end of the week)
f) Many are NOT entitled to certain federal benefits
g) Many may NOT benefit from housing programs.
h) Without a paycheck it is difficult to survive.
i) They have to move on with their lives.
Help for a large group as this one requires not just one organization, but
EVERY Kenyan Organization, Friends of Kenya
organizations, churches, and student association to be their for their country
men.
We are
worried about the students as:
a) They
had already paid their tuition from their meagerly sources.
b)
Homeland security say they MUST register and go to school
c) They
cannot get "out of college" jobs.
d) They
cannot benefit from programs for US Citizens.
The
families need about 5,000 dollars/family and every adult may require about 2,000
dollars to start of in their new life.
Students require anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 dollars to survive without work
for a semester in their new colleges.
A single individual and organization cannot be everything to everybody, so we
suggest that each organization searches their soul, identifies a niche to help,
and figure a way of channeling help.
We appeal to the government of
Kenya to assist the
students
as they cannot benefit from programs
restricted to US Citizens.
Presently Kenya Christian Fellowships in America is leading the initiatives. We
suggest that other organizations partner
with KCFA (at National Level or a Chapter Level) to account for both in-kind or
donations.
